1. hairbowswonderworld: what carnival means to me- This is a headband with a handmade silk fabric rose attached with some curly peacock feathers. The first thing came to my mind when I think Carnival, was that peacock blue and the peacock feather, so I went ahead and made this headband , I think the gorgeous blue and the whimsical curly feathers give it a festive cheerful look.

Do you find that when it's garbage day your mood tends to be a bit cloudier? hahah! Well mine seems that way most of Thursday mornings! I think that I start getting so relaxed that the weekend is almost here, I just don't want to do anything. Today is going to be different though, I can feel it! We remembered to get the garbage out on time (no chasing the trash guys down the street!), breakfast was yummy (herb scrambled eggs and turkey bacon), and the kids have settled down into playing a game of Lucky Ducks and so far the noise hasn't annoyed the heck out of me! It could be that I took my morning cup of orange juice outside on the patio today. I usually pour it as i'm working up breakfast, but today I decided to take in that cool morning breeze. It was wonderful and could be a new start to every day. Just figured I would share that tip in case some of you out there are lagging on some mornings :) I wonder what it would do to me in the winter time?!? hahha!

I did make an attempt to take my own advice and buy a new and brighter backround, but I couldn't find ANYTHING in yellow that wasn't plain! So I am off to check a new shoppe tonite! I did buy a bright purple one as seen in the King Me photo above, but it ended up looking the same shade as my other paper! haha! GO figure!

I have 3 little ones and I love to teach them new things. I love seeing their little eyes light up when they actually understand and 'get' something! Our latest this season is our annual container garden. We started growing them when the kids were babies and figured it was time for them to tend to their own. Their 2 small boxes sit on their picnic table, so that they can actively participate in the growing. They planted them, water them and even bring them inside when the winds pick up or the rain gets to be too much. Children seem to really soak up knowledge at this age! Needless to say with a 4,3 and 1 year old they have already tipped one over a bit :) But it was a learning experience. They are seeing how it's now taking a bit longer for the strawberry seeds to sprout. I spend a lot of time with my kids often wearing me out by days end (which for me is 3am! haha), and sometimes I don't feel like it's enough! They get 1 hour of tv time in the morning that helps me get so much done, but I still feel guilty! haha! I will fully admit that I have about 3 loads of laundry sitting in the laundry room and my bedroom is a disaster. I have toys on the living room floor that should have been picked up before I sat down at the computer, but I like my quiet time. For me this time is for the children, I will never get older and say 'I wish I had cleaned up a bit more'.

How fabulous! I am so thrilled that it's friday (not just because husband started his new job today!), I can't wait to start the weekend! I'm sitting in the back, watching the kids play and i'm off to join them, so a quick post first! My Fortune Cookie Necklace was featured in a treasury and I would just like to say thanks to H&J Star Creations for including me!
I would just like to say a great big thank you to those of you that kept us in your prayers when I asked. The power of prayer and good thoughts truly goes a long way. My husband has been laid off for a VERY long time. To the point where worry was beginning to set in and I truly didn't know if it was time to just give up. I entered a deep depression that just had me barely getting by in my head, but on the outside I had to shine on and keep on going for the sake of my 3 angels. My husband went out every morning at the same time as though he was leaving for work and came home at his same evening time. Only instead of going to work, he was looking for it. He was getting no hits time and time again and it was getting awful. We tried hard to stay positive, but it was really eating away at us. Just when we needed my shop the most, I didn't want to go on with it. You can tell how sporadic my blog posts were and how I was just not really trying too hard. I am proud to say that my husband landed a job this week and he starts tomorrow. I would like to thank all of you so much for the goodness you sent our way. I did not post this before, because I did not want pity sales and i'm not a fan of woe-is-me posts, so I internalized it. I finally posted when I was truly at the bottom of my well and you all helped so much. Thank you and may God bless you all in return.
