I Like To Move It Move It

I LIKE TO MOVE IT MOVE IT!
Today the kids created a new game & I helped them put it together! It's a game to get kids moving.
1st they started out with 1 die numbered 1-6. They took turns rolling it and then did the activity that coordinated with that number. All these activities are meant to get kids moving and off their bottoms!

As they got the moves under control, they made it a bit more difficult and added a lot more movement by writing 12 more moving commands and added them to different colored papers. Add in coordinating dice and this game just got CRAZY!
Roll the 3 dice and find the activity that matches each colored die and do all three activities in a row!

Making Memories on a HOT day!

The weather is heading over 100* this week and I have ZERO intention of being outdoors for any amount of time when that happens! We happily prepared activities for those days and cannot wait to dive in! One of them is my absolute favorite!

I bought this shrinky dinks kit at Joann and it serves a dual purpose!

1. The kids will have a blast creating it AND watching it shrink
and best of all:
2. I get a forever keepsake of their artwork!!!! Think I will make it into a charm bracelet once we are finished!
This is the outcome if you just use the pieces in the kit but you can also get creative and put them on a real chain charm bracelet along with other charms and pops of color. It's a fun project that had us all laughing and loving every minute spent together.
Teach your children this!

Right Now...

RIGHT NOW:
>The kids are thrilled that our red colored play dough came out pink instead!
>We are making the Grand Canyon out of clay, though I don't know where a snowman fits in!
>We are talking about the Summer, what we love, what we want to change and our feelings.
>There is no fighting or squabbling, only giggles and laughter and the silence of great thoughts.
>This activity has kept them occupied for over an hour!
>I am so happy!
My food for thought today!

Summer Journals!

Are your Littles making Summer Journals? We are! These are so simple when done on plain index cards.

1. We have an AWESOME Day!

2. Save receipts, maps, brochures of anything you do that day if they are given out

3. Every night each child gets 1 index card to illustrate what THEY enjoyed that day. (Next day is done on back of card)

Each Little has their own book, we punch a hole on the side of every card and use a binder ring to keep them together. By the end of the Summer they will have a great keepsake to share with their friends.

Making Memories!

A New Tradition! Every Year, I would love to get a picture of what the kids want to be when they grow up! So far, they've wanted to be the same thing for as long as they started talking about it but just in case it changes, I wanted to document it!

Parent Tip: Portable Learning!

We do a lot of learning over the Summer, but it's mainly refreshing what was learned throughout the year. With the weather this AWESOME and kids getting bored in just 1 place, we like to move around a lot! This awesome picnic silverware sorter was picked up at a charity shop for .99 and helps us move our classroom wherever needed and keeps it all stored in one place! We learn on the patio, by the pool, in the homework center at the kitchen table etc...
