It's Friday and today I would like to thank the ladies that help me run the Eart Team.

These ladies help me moderate the forum by chipping in wherever they can and I truly appreciate it. Please take a moment to visit these shops that I will present to you today! EDCCollective

EDCCollective began as a family of artisans/craft persons/collectors. My mom, our main collector passed away in Nov. of '09. So while the mix of items listed may change some, I will continue to offer quality hand crafted items as well as some vintage collectibles.

BeautifulSchlopp

I am a glass artist. I work with glass in all methods from stained glass to fusing to borosilicate. Every piece is custom made by hand. No two piece are ever the same! I also take orders, so if there's something you want but don't see, please never hesitate to contact me!

PnkGeeni

I love handmade papers of all kinds. I have books of handmade papers just sitting around. I have been creating scrapbooks since 2007 and since then, have stuffed four 12x12 albums, and a few mini albums, this is how I began card making. We decided to emigrate from UK to NZ and all my scrapbook stuff was packed up. I keep a few pieces out to make cards and get my creative fix that way.

Weekend Treasure Chest

This weekend took me to Geneva, IL where I found the BEST Antique Market. The prices and the selection can't be beat. I was looking for buttons for a custom order that someone had and I fell in love with a few other things as well! I bought the buckles because I love to make impromptu belts out of Mens Vintage Ties. I also found the CUTEST EVER gold tone nautical bangle. If you are ever in town be sure to stop here! Even my husband found a lot to look at! I will hopefully be back next week! Enjoy your visit and share your treasures!

There are a few other Antique places in town on State Street. The one in the little house a bit out of town is alright, but the one right in downtown near the Starbucks is incredibly over priced and not stocked very well. Definitely stick in the Berry House and you will not be disappointed! Be sure to schedule in a lunch while you are there over at the Egg Harbor Cafe, always divine and will also give you the energy to keep hunting for amazing finds!

1 Year to a Happy Healthy Me - Month 1

Jogging my way to Better Legs!

Hi all! I'm a bit late on this posting (Just 3 days) but It has been hectic! I have just completed my 1st month after my 30th birthday on the way to a happier, healthier me! first My Status Update:

Weight Lost: 5lbs

Nails: Not bitten in 4 weeks

Trying New Things: Registered for my first ever 5K in October

Healthier: I will give myself a 5/10 I am still not making smart decisions all the time, but I am making up for it by jogging and working out. I just want to make better decisions when eating.

All around, I am getting myself to where I would like to be in 11 months!

Featuring an Eart Artist

This Friday, I would like to take the time to Feature MaryTDesigns and her amazing beadwork! Please take a minute to step into this shop and see the passion that she has for what she does. Her work is so intricate, detailed and amazing!!

Here is some information in her own words:
I never considered that I would find my life's passion in beads, but I have. I love to work with beadweaving techniques the most, and I find myself lost in the design and execution of beadwoven pieces more often than not. I guess that this is consistent with other aspects of my life, since beadweaving requires patience and attention to detail - much like my "real" life.

In my "real" life, I am a wife, mother, and accountant (boring but organized). While I work a regular 40 hour week, I try to devote much of my off time designing and weaving. I can lose myself in beading for hours and sometimes find myself amazed at the time that has gone by! I am grateful that I have found this outlet that balances my life.

I am all about the color YELLOW this year! I am determined to make it the color of Summer! I have been buying pieces up and creating them here and there for awhile now. Along with that look, I have also fallen for the Vintage Sailor Girl look! I was on the hunt for the perfect dress for month and finally found one on Etsy! I keep myself on a strict budget for frivolous spending, and this seller was SOOO fabulous about holding this item for me. As long as I sell over 2 items every day, I should have bit of fun money left to spend in 3 days. (I toss all my profit after fees and bills and such into our travel account and out of that I only keep 20% of the pure profit for anything I would like to spend it on) I cannot wait to get it and have it hemmed up and then add my other pieces I have been collecting to it!

Taking Risks....

As you all know, I recently turned 30 last month, I have so many things that will make this year and decade different from the rest of my life. I have been a nail biter since we moved to a new house in 4th grade and have not been able to stop, no matter what. 4 weeks ago, I decided I was going to try and stop this habit and try with all my might. I have little nubs, but they are as weak as can be! haha! I have caught myself putting them in my mouth, but did realize that putting polish or a fake nail on every now and then has helped! So far so good.

I want to take it further, I want it to be memorable, huge, life-changing sort of risk. There are several things I have in mind, but I really need to flesh it all out. Have you taken a risk? Something drastic? Please share if you have!

Rainy Day Recycling Fun

Rainy Day Activity!
We love getting creative on rainy days and last week gave us a bunch! haha! Since I get so many boxes from supplies, we decided to put them to good use for the kids dress up/pretend box!
The kids love playing pretend and we decided being a mail man in the rain can be hard and we got to creating and playing!

New Challenge For Me!

As my grocery bills rise, I'm beginning to think that there has got to be a cheaper way! I'm going to test out the eating out theory against the staying in. I was a child of 2 working parents, so needless to say it was easy to eat out alot. There are ways to eat healthy even while eating out!

My challenge is to sit together with my husband and plan out our weekly menu, as I normally do alone. I will then shop for the groceries to make each meal every single day and keep the receipt from each meal. The following week, we will eat out the entire week for dinner and choose our restaurants based on what we eat at home the previous week. We will order similar meals and compare which was cheaper in the end. While it seems like a no brainer, I really have to think twice about it. I will keep you informed when we embark on this new challenge!

My Favorite Thing RIGHT NOW

As I shared last week, it was my Birthday!! I got a wonderful new toy among other fabulosities , the NooK E-reader by B&N, is everything I hoped it would be! Fantastic and Sweet and soooo cool all wrapped up in the coolest book EVER! i have already downloaded and read loads of books, just since this weekend! I am still undecided about which cover I want, since there are sooo many to choose from!!!
The first toy I bought for my new gadget was the pink back for it! It totally brightens the piece up! It was a drab grey before and now it's beach ready! i love that on the B&N site I can keep a wishlist and people can either buy or send me a gift cards for anything on my list! I love that!!! It's a fantastic toy with soooo many possibilities! I even have a Newspaper Subscription on it!!!
