I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I myself have been busy with my fathers birthday! Parties, Presents, Dinners and Family get-togethers! It's been a lot of fun, but here I sit at 11:30 pm and just getting home exhausted! We did the waterpark resort on top of all that too! Phew, I just need to sleep in until noon tomorrow!! Alright, I got a message from Scribblistic that let me know I was in her treasury today! How cool!It's a SWEET treasury that features my Pizza Ring! I discovered some cute new shops too!

Tuesday Thank Yous....

Rosary Bracelet by BeadsOfHeaven 20.00

So Tuesday is here and it's been a very thoughtful time for me. A favorite teacher of mine passed away this weekend, and old friends and I got together to attend the wake yesterday. It was a heavy heart that we all had when we met up and then thinking of her and who she was and how this teacher affected us all made us think how truly special this woman was and still is and how she deserved to be celebrated. We waited in line for 2 hours for the visitation to speak with the family. A friend of ours ended up at the back of the line as we were leaving and she said that there was still another 2 hours behind her. You can just see how much she impacted people there. You could hear the tales flying while in line and the people laughing at good memories. It was a life to be proud of, to admire, one to strive for. So my thank you goes to her. A teacher that brought me out of my shell. One that molded me into the person I am today. Cheers to the life of a wonderful woman that truly did change the world around her.

I would also like to offer up a quick apology to the waiter at Houlihans last night, we were there past closing and i'm sorry it took the turning up of the lights to give us the hint that it was time to go. I apologize for our loud laughter as well! You were a great waiter and made us laugh a few times yourself! Thanks for making it a memorable evening.

My final thank you goes out to you! All that have hearted my shop make me feel truly loved! I want to thank you for helping me make my dream a success!

Today was just a crazy day! My computer crashed and was on life support! haha! So off husband ran to get me a new laptop! He knew I couldn't go too long, while the other one was being fixed, if it even survives! Isn't he the best? So while all that was going on, I decided to start on some new pieces for the shop and my upcoming show next week! So of course, now that i'm getting into the groove of being back online, I find myself incredibly behind!!

Love is in the Air

 

Wow! So Valentine’s Day is finally here! I can’t believe how swiftly this year has been going. It’s almost surreal! This weekend brings upon us a Hallmark Holiday, you know where the card, candy and flower and Jewelry people all try and sell you their goodies and let you know that your loved ones will know you care if you buy them something. Well, isn’t that just foolish? And yet people flock to the stores year after year and buy, buy, buy. This year the gifts may not be as lavish, but there will still be gifts. There always are.Guess what? I’m a sucker for these holidays! haha! I hate cards, flowers and candy. I’m just not one that likes stuff that will die, you eat or just get thrown away. Get me a good book and I’m yours. As a kid, my parents always got us something special on Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day (and we’re Mexican!!), pretty much any little holiday. It made us feel just a little extra special than every other day. It made it fun and something to look forward to. So here I am, a mother of 3 and doing the same thing! My husband is fabulous at these sort of holidays, he likes to hide cards and presents and watch me find them. I love that this year this fun holiday is on a Saturday, so we are together all day. There is nothing romantic about the day, it’s just about being with loved ones. Our children join us a nice place for dinner and it’s more about LOVE itself than being in love. I like keeping it a day of being with our family. So now I’ve babbled on and on that it’s time for the reason I am here! HAHAHA!

 Let’s pop into our shops and change up our featured items! Let’s make them holiday appropriate! You never know those last minute shoppers are still out there! Tuesday in the Studio.....

Hello everyone! Today I am typing from my studio! I usually work around the kids, but since they have chosen to watch a movie this morning, I am stealing away! I have some new supplies that I have been waiting to work with and think today may just be the day! We don't have any lessons to get to and my daughter and I already worked on her workbook early this morning! I have the kids table set up with the craft of the day in here for when the movie is over. We're making Valentines today! We use whatever we can find and the kids finally get to cut up the books that are beyond repair thanks to the baby!

Why don't you take some time for yourself! Put that laundry down, stop vacuuming and head on into the studio! Tell yourself you will not move until you get a certain number of pieces done. The sun is shining into the studio this morning and I'm telling myself if I can get 12 pieces done and photographed then it's been a successful day! How many times do we tell ourselves that we will work another day, that we will create another day? Today is that day! Even if it's just 1 piece!!

Monday Morning

Monday morning is here! Time to enter your shop and change up those featured items! What theme are you going with? I decided to stick with a simple and elegant black and white theme.

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend and this week brings everyone much luck and good times along the way!

The weekend weather had us playing outside a lot and the melting snow made for some seriously messy times! hahaha!

The local antique mall had me dying for some new goodies, but I just couldn't make up my mind! These vintage canisters would look GREAT on my kitchen display shelf, I just couldn't bear to use them! So for now they will be at the top of my list if they are still there when we go next week! haha! I figured I would give myself enough time to think about the purchase first and I have to see if anything from my destash shop sells, once I list it! (That's my spending money shop! haha!)
My studio phone is so boring and blah, that I have been dying to spice it up with something totally fabulous and begin adding a little more decor to it. These phones totally caught my eye! I would love one in pink, so I'm checking a huge antique mall this weekend, if it's a no-go then I am going wiht the mint green!

Vintage Buttons

I love to collect vintage buttons. Something about looking at pretty old buttons and thinking about where they came from, whose clothes they decorated, what store they came from. They seem to each tell a story! I love to sort them and play with them and use them in any way possible! What do you love to collect?

I opened up those buttons and began sorting and then a bracelet formed, then it still looked plain, so I added pieces from broken vintage jewelry I came across at an estate sale. I love the Spring-like look of the outcome!

A Customer Service Reminder...

Good morning everyone! Gahhh! I'm sorry I just disappeared yesterday! I needed a little me time! I spent the day with my father and had a wonderful time! I spent virtually no time on the computer and lo and behold 5 sales! I was also able to create some new pieces while the kids spent time with grandpa!

A Bit Chatty Necklace by MCW 14.00

Have you ever called a customer service number only to be put on hold for what seemed like DAYS? It's quite annoying isn't it? Think of our convo system as our little customer service number! We need to respond in a timely manner. I KNOW that it's hard to respond rapidly, heck some days I don't even get on the computer until really late at night, but it's our job. Maybe put in your announcement how long it takes for you to reply to convos and if they have not heard from you to try messaging you again. If you will not be answering all day, go ahead and put that up there. When i'm gone for the day, I mention that. When I am keeping business hours, I mention that. When I am on vacation, I mention that. Keep your customers informed. I like to also mention my AOL instant messenger name and I keep that updated when I go out for the day too. I will also be adding on my email address today too since i've heard sometimes convos don't get to where they are going. It's good to keep everyone informed! I can't stand walking into a store and the only clerk working is in the backroom chatting away on the phone. It's not fun to have to wait, but if there were a sign that said 5 minutes, then I would understand! Let's try and run our businesses more efficiently! Have a great weekend everyone!
